Parodia subterranea:

"Underappreciated" is a superlative that's applied to a lot of cacti, but the genus Parodia probably deserves that designation more than any other. There are about 50 species, and only a few are grown by cactus collectors. P. subterranea is probably the most distinctive but also very difficult to find in habitat where it lives almost entirely underneath the soil.
