Avonia quinaria:
Avonia quinaria can be found almost ubiquitously throughout Namaqualand along the western cape of South Africa and into Southern Namibia. Of all the world’s deserts, this ecological niche hosts the most succulent biodiversity. The genus Avonia (now Anacampseros according to some taxonomists) is one of the most elusive, bearing more genetic resemblance to the cacti of South America than the fellow fog dwellers in the winter rainfall climate of Namaqualand. Water all year except if temperatures are above 95F when it should be kept dry.
