James Lovelock's Daisyworld Shirt:
Pulled straight from the pages of The Specimen Monthly issue #10.
To support his ideas about the Gaia hypothesis, James Lovelock created a computer model in 1983 about a theoretical planet called Daisyworld. On Daisyworld only two types of vegetation grow: white daisies and black daisies. Lovelock’s model shows how the reflection and absorption of sunlight by the black and white daisies help to heat and cool the planet, and thus create the conditions for life to thrive.
Check out this neat little video that NASA made about Daisyworld to see how it all works.
