Beloved Digit:

Dian Fossey was an American primatologist working in Rwanda whose extraordinary bond with a male mountain gorilla named Digit led to a life of protecting these gentle giants from poachers. Tragically, both Digit and Dian died as martyrs to the cause. This tee is our homage to them.

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund works to destroy poacher traps, run anti-poaching patrols, advocate for stricter wildlife protections, and promote conservation education. Thanks to Fossey’s work along with many other organizations, mountain gorilla populations have flourished. In her writings, Fossey expressed a desire to be buried alongside her “beloved Digit” in the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, where her gravestone reads, “NO ONE LOVED GORILLAS MORE.”
