Field Ecology ‘24 Sweatshirt:
Recently, a friend sent us a pic of this “Field Ecology ‘91” tee that they found in a thrift shop, and it got us wondering: How has life on this crazy rock changed since 1991? Some of the more obvious examples include how climate change has accelerated, habitat loss, and the mass extinction that is currently underway.
But as “ecology” deals with the interconnectedness of beings and environments, it is no longer possible to tell a story about our world without also including the spanners that humans have thrown into the works, such as microplastics, hadron colliders, AI, and pissed-off orcas. This tee was made as an update to the 1991 tee, as a eulogy to that prior world, and as a “God save us” for this one!
