Myrtillocalycium cv. POLYP (Chimera) #1:
This unusual plant is thought to be a graft-chimaera between Mytillocactus cochal and Gymnocalycium mihanovichii cv. RED HIBOTAN. Its generic name + Myrtilloclycium comes from those of its parent i.e. Mytillocactus and Gymnocalycium.
Chimaeras of plants belonging to the Cactaceae family are very rare in cultivation, the first being created and described in 1987.
Currently growing in a 2.5” terra-cotta pot.
