Traffickers poach and smuggle orchids like drugs into the states for massive heaps of cash. Fanatical orchid addicts deplete their savings to buy the rarest ones. Some obsessives even create foundations to care for their prized orchids after they die. Orchid addiction has gotten so bad that there’s even a word for it; orchidelerium (google it, it’s interesting). 

But as the pendulum swings, for every addiction there’s a path to recovery, and this one begins with a cap.
