"The Elephant Tree of Baja California", or Pachycormus discolor, is a plant that has achieved mythic status among collectors of caudiciforms. A winter growing tree, this natural bonsai grows especially stout when exposed to extreme conditions, such as the coastal winds of Cedros Island which sweep tree branches level to the ground.

 

Water: Water more frequently in the spring and summer, during it's growing season. 

Sun Exposure: Grow in full sun to part shade. 

Temperature: Keep above 32°F.

Fertilize: During the winter growing season with Super Kabuto Fertilizer.

Dormancy: Pachycormus may go dormant and lose it's leaves in the winter.
