The laughing Buddha of its genus, Pachypodium rosulatum is a Madagascan xeric shrub known for having a rotund-belly of a basal stem bedecked by thin branchlets and covered in stout conical spines. This “caudex” acts as a water storage organ for helping P. rosulatum withstand long periods of drought.

The artwork for this shirt is a reprint from 1995, originally made by our dear friend and lifetime field explorer, the great Woody Minnich.
